MC LENNY LEN ..AKA.. DJ LENNOX (jungle/drum and bass mc/dj/producer)

His style of mc-ing is a mix of hosting, hyping and a very versatile, individual style. He has a strong passion for the music and the jungle sound so he likes to let the music breath and just ride along to form a partnership with the dj and work TOGETHER for the crowd. His influences and heroes on the mic are .....MC GQ ,MC Rage, MC Fearless, Big Daddy Kane, KRS 1 and Chip Foo. He is resident mc for CHEEKY MONDAY (amsterdam) and FORMS events and also appears in raves across holland on a weekly basis. As for local radio stations he dj's/mc's on jungletrain.net each week live on the internet. He is working with TERMINAL STATE and other producers for the drum and bass tracks that will apear on his album to be realessed later this year .
As for his dj career that evolved back in the late 80's whilst spraying trains and breakdancing around Shoebury and Southend in Essex, England at a very early age of 13. DJ Passion (real name Adam English) also from Shoebury was playing at underground rave parties all over town and through his brother Ben, who Lennox was good friends with that he got to listen in on his brother's mad style of djing live in his home, it was there and sneaking into illegal raves to listen in to the music and djs that paved the way for Lennox's life in music, all he wanted to do was scratch like dj passion and the dj cash money tapes he would listen to .....He didn’t even learn to mix for the first year, just cuts and scratches. He never really felt the music back then as it was acid house and hardcore and he was firmly into his electro and hip hop until he one day he hears DJ Passion playing some rave tunes with a ragga influence on top ( this was later to be named as jungle music ) and Lennox loved it, he had the rave breakbeats, the hip hop and ragga samples riding alongside. Here was where he found his home in music and started playing ragga rave (jungle) across Essex and London. His first big break came when he got asked to play at Oscars Clacton in Essex by local promoter Gary Mac. Then later he became the resident DJ playing every Saturday night on the the legendary pier for four years along side all the legends in jungle and drum and bass. He's played on most radio stations illegal and legal including sub zero, y.2.k and met up with other local dj's and mc's like dj escher and mc raw. His partner in crime was mc flex who used to mc for lennox wherever he was playing at all the local jungle shows across the clubs in Essex and London including the lazerdrome, Brighton and other parties across the u.k. He has released a 4 deck mix cd with dj phantasy on easy recordings but as for the music Lennox makes on his own in his studio well.... that will see daylight for the first time ever this year in 2007 as he feels that timing is a crucial part of making or not making it in this scene. After djing across the world from Ibiza to Jamaica he is now settled in Amsterdam djing at venues and parties before he mc's to keep his dj fix still alive whilst concentrating mainly on his mcing. His djing style consists of mad scratching techniques, accapella's, and fast mixing. Idols and heroes on the turntables are DJ Passion, DJ Hype, Mickey finn, randall, Jazzy Jeff and DJ cash money.
